Currently in Vietnam, the latest version of the Nice Classification being applied is Version 12-2024 (applied from January 1, 2024). Versions are updated and issued by the National Office of Intellectual Property each year to apply consistently with the updated version of WIPO when registering trademarks in Vietnam.
Goods and services are recorded sequentially in each class and classified according to the International Classification of Goods and Services according to the latest updated version of the Nice Agreement.
In the same class, the application owner uses the sign “;” between goods and services in the class to separate and calculate the number of goods and services. At the end of each class, record the total number of goods/services in that class to determine the relevant state fees.
For example: Class 43: Restaurant services; Food and beverage provision services provided by the restaurant. (2 goods/services)
