    The concept of a representative office of a foreign trader

    • A representative office of a foreign trader established in Vietnam, operating under an operation license issued by the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City, with a round seal and tax identification number to maintain operation;
    • A representative office is a dependent unit of a foreign trader that performs the function of a liaison office, researching the market, promoting business investment opportunities of the trader it represents;
    • The representative office shall send a report according to the form of the Ministry of Industry and Trade on its activities in the previous year by post to the licensing agency;
    • Representative offices are obliged to report, provide documents or explain matters related to their activities at the request of competent state management agencies.

    When must the representative office make a report on its activities

    • Before January 30 of the following year, each office must submit a report on the operation of the previous year according to the prescribed form to the head office of the licensing agency in the form of direct submission or submission by post.
