As the National Liaison Structure (SNL) of the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI) and other international organizations such as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), INPIT ensures the effective protection of intellectual property rights.

INPIT is the focal point for receiving and processing applications for protection of inventions, trademarks, public-utility models, industrial models, trade names, geographical indications, plant varieties and other forms of protection.

INPIT’s target audience includes: inventors, researchers, businesses (industrial, handicraft, commercial), students, educational institutions, research institutions, agricultural associations and communities.

When protected, the owner will have the exclusive right to exploit his invention in 17 OAPI member states, including: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Chad, Togo, Comoros Union.

The maximum of 3 groups of service fees is 46,155 (FCFA) – the currency of Togo. For each additional registered service/commodity group, the service fee will increase to about 10,490
